1960s Pierre Cardin Tunic Dress
$ 0.00
This is a wild little piece by Cardin dating to the mid 1960s when he was going "way out" stretching the boundaries of fashion.
This amazing piece is made from ribbed cotton that has a very structured look and feel. The print is a wild floral that comes as close to psychedellia as you will find in French couture. I love the contrast of the vertical stripes with the big blooms.
It is a tunic cut, with shiny black plastic buttons at the shoulders. I love how Cardin actually made arm holes out of the black trim, instead of having it go open all the way from the shoulder down. One of these arm holes is actually fitted with hooks to help you dress better. There are also hooks at the waist, as well as a tie belt. Other than that, its open down the sides. I would imagine this would have been worn with hot pants, but today's fashionista can use her imagination to make this a stunning modern masterpiece.
