Lilli Ann
Adolph Schuman was born in San Francisco, the son of Hungarian Jewish immigrants. In 1933 young Adolph started a wholesale women's clothing company slowly building the company into a multi million dollar enterprise. He named the company Lilli Ann after his wife. The Lilli Ann creations were focused on the finest quality fabrics available, most imported from Italy and France. It was often said that Schuman "saved" the fabric industry after the war by investing heavily in the small, family mills that created the most divine textiles available.
