1960s Pierre Cardin Dress
$ 0.00
This is a very early couture creation by Pierre Cardin. This came to me with a sister from the same collection and I must say, they are both totally wonderful.
The fabric is 100% silk, woven in India. It is an incredible textile of remarkable quality. I believe the print was made by hand wood block technique. Each flower and butterfly is unique with subtle differences, though the overall appearance is uniform. The colors are vivid and beautiful. The cut of the dress is a classic sheath perfectly constructed with meticulous darts for a loose, but flattering fit. The neck, armholes and hem are finished in a neo-space age triple cord trim that is actually light green quilted over cord. It is a striking and elegant dress.
