1970s Bill Gibb 3 Piece Ensemble
Bill Gibb first started creating his now famous knitwear in 1974 with the help of his good friend Kaffe Fassett. Though he was already famous for his fairy-tale like creations, he really hit his stride with the knits, bringing all his artistry and imagination to everyday wear.
This gorgeous ensemble consists of a skirt, top and scarf. Its an acrylic/nylon blend that feels like a very soft cotton. It was made in England. As you can see, most of the knit is a pale blue and cream with a floral motif, possibly a thistle, being Gibb was Scottish. The floral is accented by an almost argyle type pattern in bolder colors.
The top has a stretchy waist and huge batwing sleeves. The skirt is a wrap style with two ties down the side. The scarf is really, really long so it can be draped in many ways for many looks.
