1990s Karl Lagerfeld Dress
It has been said that Karl Lagerfeld is a great imitator, but not a great innovator, but I tend to disagree. Yes, when he designs for Chanel he keeps to the "Chanel style" but when I find pieces he designed for his own label, I do find them quite interesting. This one, for instance is really unique.
Made of a thick crepe wool with a touch of lycra, this dress cuts a very alluring figure. It sports big shoulder pads and buttons down the front. I love the double lapels! It sort of looks like a coat over a jacket, but then again you see its an illusion. The dress is fully lined and has deep pockets on the hip.
