I have seen this label a few times in my career on similar late 1950s-early 1960s dresses. Schiaparelli closed her fashion house in 1954, but she did license her brand for select manufacturers, and I imagine she did so with approval of the designs. The quality of this piece is very high end.
This beautiful ensemble consists of a dress, jacket and tie belt. The fabric is a heavy silk jersey in Schiaparelli's trademark "shocking" pink. The dress is a sheath style, with buttons down the front, slash pockets and an interesting elastic inside to help the dress hang perfectly. There are also lingerie snaps at the shoulders. The jacket has the same buttons down the front (they are shiny, pink, metallic plastic) and has side patch pockets. There is just a hint of a collar, 3/4 length sleeves and the tie belt can be worn over the jacket or over the dress. You could also mix up the outfit by wearing the jacket with jeans, or the dress with a shawl or different jacket.
Only the dress has the Schiaparelli label. Both pieces have a Murielle Ltd, Glasgow label... the original owner informed me this was "the" place to shop in Glasgow.
