1980s Roberto Capucci Winged Arm Jacket
This lovely jacket dates to the late 1980s or early 1990s, a period I feel was a high point in Capucci's career, andt this amazing jacket is a prime example why. There are no fabric labels, but I believe it to be silk of a cream color, with amazing sheen and enough structure to realize Capucci's vision. The base of the jacket is simple, straight cut, nearly boxy with four big, faux mother of pear buttons down the front. Then, we have the sleeves... and oh my, what sleeves they are. They start as giant "wings" in the back that can be worn flipped up showing the black backing, or smoothed down. The drama continues down the arm to the cuff where it spirals around the arm creating that soft and chic flair at the wrist. As you can see in the photos, you can manipulate the "wings" many ways, creating many interesting looks. The jacket is lined. the matching dress is being sold separately - this sale is for the jacket only.
