1980s Hanae Mori Butterfly Dress

The divine Ms. Mori really stretched her wings when she designed this delightful gown. The butterfly is, of course, her signature element and she really presented it here in bright, vivid color, adding such realistic beauty and grace. She amped up the style adding huge shoulder pads accented by bands of bright red silk that adds a definitely Japanese flair. The dress is silk chiffon over silk crepe de chine. Its a long, straight cut, with a high slit up the right leg. The dress closes with simple buttons up the back. As you can see in the 3rd photo, it looks great belted too (belt is not included). This is Hanae Mori Couture so expect top quality and hand finishes.
