1970s Stephen Burrows Chiffon Pants Ensemble
Stephen Burrows is one of my all time most favorite designers, and this is perhaps his most notable creation. He made these ensembles in every color of the rainbow, and some women had several to wear depending on the day's particular mood.
This wonderful ensemble is a divine seafoam green silk that is somewhere between a crepe and organza. I love that the "lettuce" hem was done in a contrasting red thread which is another famous Burrows touch.
The top is three layers of silk. It is a wrap style that crosses over and ties with a long sash. The sleeves are slightly belled, as is the bodice once it is tied. The pants are also 3 layers of silk. They are wide leg, pajama style with an elastic waist.
