1960s Geoffrey Beene Rhinestone Trim Dress
There really is no "typical" Geoffrey Beene style. There are definite archetypical Beene designs, but every season had a unique, unprecedented style.
This beauty dates to the mid to late 1960s. Its a sheer chiffon (not silk, either rayon or poly) over nude taffeta. The trim at the neck, shoulders, and wrists are accented with tiny, prong set, hand sewn rhinestones. The dress is long, with a smart A-line and slightly flared sleeves. It is a rare beauty from a master designer.
