1970s Thea Porter Couture Gown

$ 0.00

 There is nothing like a good Thea Porter Couture piece. This one is absolutely, drop dead sexy! Just check out that open front... neck to navel, completely open, but not too open. Just right I would say.

The fabric is a divine burn out velvet. Its probably silk or silk/rayon. The pattern gives the impression of a jungle, with vines and flowers galore.

The look of the dress is very influenced by what Ossie Clark was doing at the time. If it wasn't for the incredible fabric choice (which was Thea's forte), I would have thought it was an Ossie.... but no moss crepe could hold a candle to this incredible velvet.

It looks like it could be a top and skirt, but it is a complete dress. The bodice attaches over the skirt , then continues down to make a very loose peplum. The poet sleeves have little snaps at the wrists, the neck closes with a few little hooks. The bodice is lined in red chiffon. The sleeves are unlined.

The skirt closes up the front with a metal zipper. It is slim throughout the hips, then flairs out to a very nice sweep. The skirt portion is lined in red silk charmeuse.
