1980s Moschino CHIC Jacket
This is a darling jacket by the ever fabulous Franco Moschino. It is 100% linen, a slightly rough, woven fabric adorned with appliques of cotton calico type fabrics. I think Franco was being ironic here (as he was so good at being) using these funny, almost hokey images and fabrics, and labeling it CHIC in huge letters on the back. The use of the telephone book print on the right hip pocket adds to the drama, and the phone token buttons do as well. The other buttons are wood, depicting a rainbow, a flower and a girl's head (olive oyl) revert back to the hokey "chic" theme. The jacket is a simple, slightly fitted cut, and is fully lined.
