This beautiful ensemble is one of the prettiest Zandra creations I have ever seen. It is made of black silk chiffon, hand-printed in metallic silver and gray. The pattern is her famous "Indian Feather" design of 1970, which, according to her new, wonderful website, was her 3rd collection. The ensemble consists of a dress and a tunic, which when worn together is absolutely chic and elegant, but you could also separate the pieces wearing just the dress on a warm summer's night, or the tunic over leggings, tights or a more basic under-dress for a less dressy affair. The dress has no sash, but I am showing it in the last few photos with a belt (belt not included) so you can see how pretty it looks this way as well. The dress is lovely, with a fitted bodice, an empire waist, and a tiered, flowing skirt. Each tier is attached creating a little ruffle above. The bodice portion is lined in black silky fabric, the rest of the dress is sheer. There is a side zipper. The tunic is amazing, with cut outs around the feathers in the little sleeve and at the center of the chest which brings to mind Native American regalia. There are real, hanging feathers at the neckline, each feather on a string of silk chiffon, each string is entwined with another creating a lattice look at the neck. The hem is scalloped to add even more drama.
