Liliane Romi has been dressing the Parisian elite since the mid 1960s. Her original store in the Père-Lachaise neighborhood was designed by Paco Rabanne, but later the shop was moved to the more fashionable rue du faubourg Saint-Honoré where it still exists today. Liliane Romi creations were never mass produced, and are very collected.

This hot little beauty has a hand-written tape at the neck that reads "Etoile" - the French word for Star. The elaborate tiny sequin and bead work at the neck, shoulders and bodice certainly evokes shooting stars. The design of the dress is certainly reminiscent of the 1940s, with the wide shoulders (padded), ruching from the waist down to the hips, the beaded bar along the ruching and the fun crossover drape along the skirting. The fabric is a very fine silk faille, the bodice is lined in silk chiffon, the skirt is lined in a slinky satin type fabric. The dress buttons up the back and has a small zipper down the skirt back.
