These early (late 60s & early 70s) Calvin Klein pieces are very rare and are very in demand as they are not only beautifully designed, but were expertly made as well. Calvin started out after fashion school and a brief apprenticeship with a small shop in New York city producing coats, dresses and suits geared towards the youth of the city. This lovely creation epitomizes his trademark sleek, sporty look that made him a sensation back then and has fueled his blazing career from then on. This lovely piece has the basic look of a classic trench coat, but is a bit more simplified. I believe the fabric is a light tan wool/silk blend. It is very fine, soft and ever so beautiful. There are five buttons down the front, the lowest ending at hip level. When closed, only the top button is showing, the rest will be covered. The two slash side pockets also have buttons showing. There is a long, deep kick pleat up the back. The sleeves are belted, there is no waist belt. The coat is lined in a silky synthetic.
