1950s Hattie Carnegie Trained Evening Dress

$ 0.00
This dress has everything going for it. Its a classic Hattie Hollywood glamorpuss style done in the most wonderful of fabrics. I have experienced this fabric before in French haute couture, and this is the first I have seen it used for an American made dress. It is a divine silk satin with beautiful , soft, velvet roses. The velvet is actually part of the satin, not flocked to it like the cheaper fabrics.
The cut of the dress is just dreamy. Its slim and slightly fitted in the front, but the back goes completely lux with that incredible half circle of train. The bodice has substantial stays, the back closes with a metal zipper. I should also add that the skirting is made from one whole piece of fabric, with only one seam going down the back. I also love the deep, nearly bare back that shoots this LBD right over the top.
I also wish to point out how delightful the label is. I have never seen this Hattie for I Magnin label before, but it is obvious from its quality and design that it was a very big deal. Its a large and very fancy label... I love the side columns that read H C Inc - Ala mode.
