1970s Sorelle Fontana Cashmere Dress

I generally think 1950s when I think Fontana, but they were producing gorgeous Italian fashion well up through the early 1990s. This darling dress I am dating to the late 1970s or early 1980s based on the style and the puffed/padded shoulders. I believe the fabric is cashmere, but there are no fabric content tags to support my guess. It is definitely a natural animal wool, very soft and luxurious. The dress is styled in a classic 1940s shape, and the wonderful bow applique on the chest also brings to mind that time period. The applique actually is more like embroidery, with cut outs in the wool, backed with organdy, and hand applied beads with a prong set rhinestone at the center. The dress has little buttons at the edge of the sleeves and a long, back zipper. It is fully lined in a silky synthetic fabric.
