I just adore this dress. Its unlike any dress I have ever seen. The fabric is beautiful silk, printed in wood grain! It is so unique and beautiful, its like something you would expect from Issey Miyake or Martin Margiella, but it is completely unexpected from a Parisian couturier. I guess even the hoity toity can have a whimsical streak. The dress was manufactured by Mendel, but don't think for a second that this is not couture quality. Everything about this dress is couture quality! All the edges are hand finished, the lining was sewn in by hand, the button holes were done with the skill of a Balenciaga or Dior... its just magnificent!
Beyond the adorable print and fine quality, the design of the dress is just wonderful as well. I love how the back crosses over, to close on the side with big buttons and that tiny bow at the waist. There is a zipper inside on the silk underdress, as well as an inner waistband. The zipper seems to be a replacement, but the rest is all original.
