1960s Coco Chanel Couture Ensemble
This is actually a 3 piece ensemble, but sadly the blouse was worn much more than the skirt and scarf and suffered from the wear. I am selling the two pieces in excellent condition and am throwing in the blouse with the deal (the blouse is the only piece that is labeled).
This dreamy skirt and scarf was made by the House of Chanel in the early 1960s. Both pieces are made from beautifully printed silk. The skirt has pin tucks at the waist that open to sharp, perfect pleats. Notice how the pattern lines up perfectly all the way down. The pleats along the front and back are singles, the ones down the sides are double pleats! Just amazing!! The skirt is lined in pink silk, and closes with a hidden side zipper. The scarf is long, wide and beautiful.
As noted above, the set comes with the matching blouse. The blouse is lightly stained, and the fabric is fragile so the cleaners decided not to clean it (the skirt and scarf were cleaned and came out beautifully, but they were in great shape to begin with as they seemed to have had very little wear). The blouse closes up the left with pink mother of pearl buttons and snaps. The bottom of the blouse is weighted with a gold chain, and the blouse has the CHANEL label so it is better kept with the whole ensemble even though it is not wearable. If it was to be displayed in a private collection or museum the flaws would be overlooked, but I do not recommend wearing the blouse as the silk at the neckline is fragile. There is a type written tape under the CHANEL label that reads 147825.
condition: Skirt and Scarf are excellent, the blouse is in fair to poor condition.
