1980s Geoffrey Beene Dress

Nobody ever did, nor do I think anyone ever will construct a coat with the grace and complexity of Balenciaga. I wish all women could have the experience of wearing an original Balenciaga coat at least once in their lifetime. Sadly, not many were made, and those that were, were worn to "rags" so they are few and way far between nowadays.
This is a fun little dress. Its a playful style, but the details are truly sophisticated and elegant. The fabric is incredible. I believe its silk, black and white, waffle textured, with an amazing sheen, and an optical effect. The white accents I believe are cotton, and are trimmed in black satin. The massive trapeze cut is accentuated by the dramatic pleats in the back. The six buttons up the back are just adorable.
