1990s Issey Miyake Silver Dress with Rainbow Zippers
This is a very rare and extremely beautiful example of Issey Miyake's genius in combining experimental fabrics with traditional cuts. This dress is made from a fabric of rayon and polyester, it is woven silver and white, the overall look is liquid silver, almost like foil, but with the softness of rayon. The cut is simple, just a long tunic cut, but he added these remarkable rainbow hologram zippers that are works of art in themselves! The zippers, one up the front from the navel to the hem, that opens completely, and two down the back from the top of the let to the hem that open to reveal deep kick pleats. The dress is unlined, and is very light, nearly weightless if not for the zippers.
The condition is excellent
