1970s Zandra Rhodes "Indian Feather" Hand Printed Tunic Top
This is a stunning Tunic by the always fabulous Ms Zandra Rhodes! The pattern is her famous "Indian Feather" design of 1970, which, according to her new, wonderful website, was her 3rd collection. The tunic is a very light and ethereal silk of cranberry red hand printed in metallic gold, black and shades of pink. It is very sheer so if you are a modest sort you will want to choose a less showy undergarment. The top laces up the front and the back, and you can make it tighter, or freer as you like. There is no real waist, rather it pulls in with the laces to create an empire waist effect. The sleeves are very wide and free. Both the sleeves and the hem are slashed (and the edges are rolled of course) in long thin strips that float free around the body, add even more the the drama of the top. This is one truly spectacular Zandra that can be worn over a dress, skirt or pants, or wear it as a mini with tights or leggins.
