1970s Yves Saint Laurent Sequin Peasant Sweater

What a special little top by the very special YSL. If it didn't have the fabric content tag still attached I wouldn't have guessed the luxurious knit was mostly wool, but indeed, its 81%, with a little cotton, acrylic, polymide and acetate mixed in. The knit is wide ribbed along the back and sleeves, the front is covered entirely in electric blue sequins. It seems the sequins were woven right in to the wool, so there is no sequin loss, or chance of ever losing one.
The style of the sweater is unmistakably YSL. Its one of his peasant looks with the points in the front and the back. The front is open, closing with shiny, black, pointed, plastic buttons. The sweater is unlined, and there are no shoulder pads, but there are little gathers at the shoulder so it give a bit of a puffy.
