1970s Yves Saint Laurent Russian Ensemble

This is a darling set dating to the mid 1970s, obviously from YSL's "Russian Collection" . The little vest is black cotton velvet adorned with gold piping. The buttons are cone shaped spirals of gold. The skirt has the velvet to the hip, then two layers of magnificent silk taffeta pours down to the floor. The skirt has the gold piping at the hip, and at the hem.
This set was probably worn with a peasant blouse, or perhaps a body suit. Nowadays, you could totally wear it as shown, with a bare midriff.
