1970s Yves Saint Laurent Le Smoking Jacket

One of YSL's most famous styles was Le Smoking Jacket. He introduced it in 1966, and from then on, every YSL runway show saw a different version. The classic Le Smoking look was a tuxedo designed for women. This adorable jacket pushed the form one step beyond, with quilted lapels and cuffs that you would find in a man's smoking jacket.
This rare beauty is made from rich, jet black velveteen. The quilted areas are silky satin, the trim on the pockets and hem is grosgrain. The jacket is fully lined, the shoulders are lightly padded. There are no closures, to be worn open.
