1970s Yves Saint Laurent Cashmere Cape
This is an amazing piece by YSL. The collar and shoulder area is cotton velveteen. The rest is a super soft woven wool that I believe is at least a cashmere blend, if not 100% cashmere. It is a glorious mid-weight fabric that has such a beautiful hand, with so much drape and flow. Its the kind of fabric that just begs to be made into a cape. The color is a rich royal blue, the velvet is black. The only closure is the long velvet tie at the neck. The cape is unlined and there are no pockets and no slashes for the hands. Its all about movement and grace so this was made to be thrown over an under the arms as needed. You will be in love with the way you feel when you wear this magnificent garment.
