1970s Yves Saint Laurent Day In Paris Dress
This dress is absolutely DIVINE!! I have never seen such an thrilling YSL Rive Gauche in my life. The print!!! It's just incredible, showing painted scenes of Paris. The style of the art is very much like Yves' and I wouldn't be at all surprised if he himself designed the fabric. It is certainly signed Yves Saint Laurent all over the print! The fabric is, of course silk jacquard with a slight dot pattern in the silk.
To complement the amazing print Yves also went over the top with the cut of the dress. Just look at those dolman sleeve that boarder on batwing. There are bright "French Blue" plastic buttons up the chest that can be left open to show a little skin if desired. The armholes are elastic, the waist is not. There are slash hip pockets and the skirting is lined in white silk (the bodice is unlined). There is a side zipper closure. I believe the zipper is a replacement as it is nylon and most YSL zippers are metal.
