This is a fabulous garment! It is the traditional (high end) Pauline Trigere label, not her lower cost, ready to wear "Trigere Coat" . In fact, the original $595 price tag still hangs from the label, so you get an idea of how expensive Trigere pieces were at the time.
The coat is made from divine wool, striped in shades of cream, taupe and brown. Pauline was a master of a perfect cut, and when you see how this coat hangs open, you will be struck by how beautifully the lapels fall, and how all the stripes line up perfectly. I adore how the lapels are cut to the dark brown line, so it actually looks like a piped trim. It is simply divine. The cuffs can be worn flipped up as shown if you are wearing long gloves, or flip them down for a more traditional look. The deep pockets will insure your warm hands should you go without gloves. The coat is unlined, the pockets are lined in silk.
