1970s Giorgio Sant Angelo Skirt

$ 0.00
This is a sublime example of Sant Angelo's free wheeling style. He used 8 panels of fabric with completely different patterns. To add to the effect he chose 7 different trims. When you think about it, it should really be horrible, but Sant Angelo was such an artist/architect that it absolutely works!
I believe the fabrics are all cotton. Some are very light and gauzy, some are heavier and more polished. His choice of patterns is astonishing, from plain to wild. The trims are magnificent. I would say they are German in origin, finely woven, very high quality.
As with most Sant Angelo pieces from this time, there are no zippers or buttons on this skirt. The waist ties around (its not a wrap skirt) with the thick, floral trim. The skirt is a full circle of color.
