1960s Pauline Trigere Couture Dress
$ 0.00
.I find this set amazing. It is the finest Trigere I have ever seen. I am dating it to the 1960s, but I am not exactly sure as I have never seen this couture label before. I thought it was from the 1950s, but the nylon side zipper would date it later (I studied the zipper and I believe it is original to the dress).
The lace is incredible. Divine metallic gold treads create etherial floral patterns against a very fine, almost invisible neutral backing. There is a stunning shimmer, but its not flashy.
The dress is very sweet, with a tank bodice and graceful skirt. The dress is fully lined in nude silk charmeuse, and a double layer of nude silk organza under the lace. The organza layer has a stiff 2" mesh band at the hem to give the skirt loft without a crinoline.
The little jacket is a simple, boxy cut, with little flutter cap sleeves. No closures on the jacket. There is a very thin belt (1/4"x62") made from the lace that can be worn over the dress, or over the jacket.
