This is a really fabulous dress. It has an "arts and crafts" look to it, very simple, almost primitive looking, but full of fine pleating, impressive needle work, and a very couture feel. It is really difficult to photograph black on black, so you won't know the true beauty of the dress until you see it in person.
It is composed of silk, with a nylon like net at the hem. The bodice is a simple tank style, decorated with a finely made gathered trim at the neck that loops down in the center perfectly. The waist is finely gathered, then the skirt is adorned with huge loops of gathered silk trim. The skirt is scalloped at the hem to coincide with the big loops of decoration, then the hem is finished with three layers of rough edged tulle netting. The skirt has a built in slip of silk crepe, that has a fabulous jagged (VVV) hem. There is a huge tulle net bow at the small of the back. The dress closes with little snaps down the left side.
