1970s Yves Saint Laurent Evening Gown
This gown it tremendous. A shining example of Saint Laurent style, dating to the late 1970s or very early 80s. The fabric is a dreamy watered silk taffeta. It is not quite black, but not really gray. The fabric has a wonderful sheen, but its not at all shiny, with light ripples (watered silk effect) when the light hits it right.
The bodice has a cross-over neckline, with lots of drape and loose pleats. There are light shoulder pads which could be removed, but I really think they are important to the look of the dress. The side zipper is hidden. The skirt is voluminous, with hidden pockets. This dress is perfect as shown, but if you were to add a wide, jeweled belt, it would become rather spectacular.
