1970s Bill Blass Goddess Dress

$ 0.00
This is a truly magnificent dress by Bill Blass. Layers upon layers of luxurious chiffon flow effortlessly down from the gathered shoulder to the finely pleated waist, and from there the chiffon pours down with fullness and grace. The tri-color silk, gray, butterscotch and cream are quite striking and unique.
Blass designed this one like a classic Greek Goddess gown. The waist in the front is slightly higher than the natural waist, and a little lower than an empire, and it swoops down the the natural waist in the back. There are belt loops, but the original belt has been lost. I suspect it was a sash, rather than a hard belt. It could be replaced with anything from a simple satin ribbon, or a long chiffon scarf, but you could also snip the loops and wear it as is. The dress closes with a hidden side zipper, and the shoulder has hooks and eye closures for ease in dressing.
