1990s Renée Lewis Vintage Couture Ostrich Feather Dress

Renée Lewis is now one of the hottest jewelry designers, but once upon (in the 1980s) her creative genius centered on re-vamping vintage dresses into "modern", wearable styles. This beautiful little dress is made of emerald green velvet (probably silk/rayon) accented with teal ostrich feathers from the hips down. The dress is ultra sexy with the single "goddess" style shoulder and light ruching down the sides. The feathered portion of the dress is backed with a nylon mesh that adds structure and shape. I am not sure what the dress looked like before Ms Lewis changed it up, but the end product is just divine. The dress is lined in a silky fabric, has a side zipper and a hook at the shoulder.
