1950s Tina Leser Dress
Tina Leser designs always make me smile. She traveled the world seeking out exotic and unique fabrics then created chic, stylish garments to suit the fabric and the wearer. This magnificent piece features fabric sourced from India. It is pure silk, spatter dyed in rich indigo and violet, with glorious metallic gold thread embroidery. Its a long shirtwaist dress with silk covered buttons down the front ending at the waist. The bodice has a wonderful, deep pleat in the back, as well as another lower towards the hem, and there are side slits as well. The dress is fully lined in a glorious dupioni silk that is gorgeous enough to have been made into a dress. I am showing the dress with a gold belt but the belt is not included. This was hippie chic before there were hippies!
