1950s Norman Norell Wool Suit
$ 0.00
I am a sucker for a oversized houndstooth patterned suit. Add to the equasion this particular color of blue, you know, the shade that brings to mind a summer sky or your best friend's eyes and you have yourself a unique, yet timeless pattern. Now, hand that incredible wool cloth to the able hands of Norman Norell, and you have a suit that is pertanant 60 years after it was created.
There are some suits IÂ like, and some I love, and some that make me go absolutely crazy. This suit is one of the crazy ones. The jacket, cropped short, with darts to fit a woman's body with grace. I love that te collar and lapels have oposite facing pattern than the rest of the suit which really makes a contrast. The 3/4 length sleeves gives a youthful, fun appearance, and the genuine mother of pearl buttons (thick and perfectly carved) are the jewel in the crown.
The skirt is beautifully tailored, with a slim wiast, and a slight accentuation of the hip. The skirt has a zipper on the crest of each hip, creating a sleek line. Both the jacket and skirt are lined in silk. There are under arm halos in the silk lining but otherwise the suit is perfect.
