1940s Blue Silk Velvet Jacket
This is a magnificent little jacket of the finest cobalt blue. The cut reminds me very much of an early Madam Gres coat I had a while back, with the cross over style bodice that secures on the opposite shoulder. The velvet is dreamy soft, probably silk/rayon. The buttons are large, and made mother of pearl. The lining is of pink silk. The sleeves have a little puff at the shoulder and there are tiny snaps at the wrists.
